Description:
Please see the Professional Development System for further details, and the website below. The overall goal of this project is to provide a comprehensive training program about soil health with specific applications to vegetable cropping. The project team includes Megan Kennelly (Plant Pathology), Cary Rivard (Horticulture), DeAnn Presley (Agronomy), and Raymond Cloyd (Entomology). Kim Oxley is coordinating many aspects of the program and can be reached at koxley@ksu.edu. This day-long hands-on workshop will be offered in 3 locations (NE/NC/SW) in 2016 and 3 locations in 2017 (SE/SC/NW locations and dates TBD). In 2016, the dates and locations are:

May 11, Olathe Research Station
May 26, Courtland (on a private farm)
June 9, Liberal (Seward County Community College)
Lunch will be included

Target Audience:
The primary audience is county agriculture and horticulture agents.

A Hands on learning field day with sessions led by K-State Agronomists.Topics include; Growth and Development, General Production Problems, Diseases and Treatments, Water Use, Weed Identification, Soil Fertility, Sprayer Calibration, Entomology and New Technology in Wheat Breeding.
Target Audience:
Agronomy professionals, farmers and extension agents.
