Each September, a two-day conference is held by the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) of Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System, the Arkansas Geriatric Education Center (AGEC), the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging and the Office of Continuing Medical Education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS).
In Sept 2013, the course was about: (day 1) Nutrition and aging: Heart disease, diabetes, cancer and dementia; (day 2) Update on geriatric medicine; and (day 3) Long term care.

Tuesday, September 2nd ~ 8:30 – 4:30 pm
Part 1. The presenters will provide training on the TPOT
instrument, key definitions, and scoring guidance. Participants
will practice the scoring of indicators.
Wednesday, September 3rd ~ 8:30 – 3:30 pm
Part 2. The presenters will complete the training on the TPOT
instrument and participants will view an entire TPOT
observation/interview on video (2.5 hours) and score the TPOT
to check reliability with the gold standard score. While the
majority of participants are expected to complete all activities
by 3:30 pm, it is possible that some individuals might need
additional time to complete scoring.
In order to participate in the TPOT workshop, all attendees
should be familiar with the Pyramid Model and have
completed some Pyramid Mode

The Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT) reliability
workshop prepares participants in the use of the instrument to
gather information on preschool teacher implementation of the
Pyramid Model practices. This is an intensive workshop that
requires prerequisite knowledge, preparation, and
participation in the entire workshop. Participants who

The 2014 Farm Bill Conference will address the details, decisions, analysis, impacts, and educational efforts surrounding new farm bill programs to help Extension professionals prepare to educate producers, landowners, ag professionals, and other individuals and groups. The 2014 Farm Bill includes substantial changes in farm commodity policy, crop insurance, conservation programs, and other titles that affect producers, landowners, ag professionals, and others. This conference will go beyond a general overview of farm programs to discuss the details and decisions facing farm program participants and the broader impacts of those programs and decisions.
